you were sitting pretty much where i was! i was directly at the end of that "straight". i had the camera ready as i see him come sideways and as i am about to hit the shutter my girlfriend yanks down on my arm and says "oh my God!". and then there was no shot. couple of close calls that group.

this was our third car "event". i usually leave her at home when i autocross, but she's been to two and she doesn't mind it.
today was actually ok because there's lots of different cars and types of cars to look at in the pits at the monterey historics. she's not a car gal per se, but she can tolerate my car geekiness. plus girls seem to love 550 spyders and 356 speedsters and porsche was the featured marque this year. the only reason i got hell today was because we didn't have hats and i forgot the sunscreen so i look like a lobster right now.

I'd have to say WORST HISTORIC RACES EVER.............................................. ....................................sooooooooooooo oooooooooooooooo
disappointing. Anyone who goes to the vintage races is aware, probably their biggest attraction/race is TRANS AM CLASS. This is because it was real sports car racing, but not with can am cars etc... cars that at least look like what you might have been driving on the street.
