Dog swimming in North Bay

My 8 year old german shepherd needs to swim, as per his doctor. His hips are getting weak (all shepherds have those when they get older). Where can I take his german *** to swim around a bit without worrying about being fined...

Howard Park in Santa Rosa

There are alota dog/running trails and many people let their dogs swim in the lake.

Spring Lake and Lake Ralphine in Santa Rosa are good options; the Russian River of course (Wohler Bridge has some good access)... Also Foothill Park in Windsor; there's several large ponds there that are perfect for doggie swimming.

My dog has the same thing, you can get this stuff @GNC that is some powder and it helps with there arthritis and bad hips, you should really look into it I'm about to get some. My friend gives it to his dog and it seems to help a lot.

Yeah, or you can get this stuff:

It's for horses, but also works great for dogs. Plus, it's cheaper than the human grade stuff... You can get it at most any feed store.

My friend has a Husky/Samoyed mix who's had hip displasia and bone spurs for almost all of his life. He had a couple of surgeries early on in life, and until a few years ago it looked like he would need to go under the knife again; then my friend started him on that Next Level stuff, and within a few weeks the dog recovered almost completely. He's 12 years old now and can still jump into/out of the truck without any assistance.

Umm...the only access you're going to get at Wohler Bridge is umm...

George W. style access...because he has a MANDATE (NWS). I wouldn't take your dog down there, unless he's willing to fight off the rather obvious come ons that Alex would receive...

I don't think they are aggressive, they don't want the area shut down by the cops. I think if you just shake your head no, they'll leave you alone.

I don't actually know where this place is, but there is one just like it in the city and they don't bother me after one approach - of course I'm not pretty like Alex :-D

Alex... there's a lake/beach like 2 mins from my house... It's where we take out dogs to swim and stuff. The water is calm, so no waves, etc... You're welcome to bring him any time.

Oh yeah, there are ZERO people or other animals. It's a little remote.
