This is coming from a guy who gutted his brand new STi and gave it an impossibly stiff ride with Ohlins. I want no creature comforts whatsoever, I have a comfortable DD. To be honest, there isn't a car on the market that totally appeals to me. I'd be better off getting a used car and making it how I want anyway rather than wasting money. The only one I think I would really **** my pants to have is the black series AMG. Deleted back seat, purpose built, tunable suspension and loads of carbon. ****ing right.
C63 AMG like the F1 safety car?

I agree the platform is very capable although a running 04+ STI might be a little too much for a 08 STI with failed main and rod bearings

Mike
errr, what's this about failed bearings?

yeah 18x8.5 stock with 245s, but had over and inch on each side clearance so 275/285 should be easy to do.

Due to a bad batch of bearings, any turbo'd 2.5L car from subaru was put on a stop sale order for a few weeks while they tried to trace down everything and get to the bottom of things.

Wow that sucks. I'm sure a few made it out to owners then.

Are they marked up for 40k or is that the otd price (which is OTT anyway)?

msrp is $35k according to Yahoo autos. If the dealers have them marked for $40k its not surprising that they aren't selling. By the time you get that on the road, its going to be closer to $44k with fees, taxes etc. At $9k over msrp, you lose at least $10,000 as soon as you drive it off the forecourt.
