Angry Do you ever wash your car and...

...Go outside like ten minutes later, to see tree spooge all over your car. I washed my car this weekend and then come outside like ten minutes later to see my beautiful car is all Yellow from tree sperm. When I go to work, I park it by pine trees, and bam, more tree pollen. I carry a California car duster, but even when I lightly brush the stuff off it leaves those hair line scratches. Sorry just a vent. Question: Does clay baring eliminate those little scratches. Where do I get a clay bar also?

Yeah, clay bar will clear those little scratches and leave your car nice and smooth...then apply wax. I don't really know where you buy em...I got mine at Moscone carshow last year.

A temporary fix to the pollen nuisance is I spray my car with an air hose when I get home...One of a few perks of having a cheap compressor in the garage

on, and claybar should get those small scuffs youre talking about, but I think it takes off some clear coat. You can get it at autozone in a kit

make sure you use the quick detailer to keep the paint lubricated properly so you dont hurt the clear coat. if dont properly, your car will be very smooth.

To my knowledge, clay bars do NOT remove scratches. Clay bars remove surface contamination. (Which is why the surface feels smooth once you're done). If not used properly, clay bars can introduce new scratches. That is why you always use a lubricant with a clay bar; the clay isn't supposed to actually touch the paint, it glides over it.

Many waxes will fill in light scratches, but it'll return as the wax wears off. To permanently remove scratches, you'll need a quality polish. (Actually, the proper application is more important than the proper product...) Polishes intentionally remove a thin layer of clear coat.

For scratches that go beyond the clear coat and into the actual paint - i.e. when someone keys your car - you're kinda screwed
At this point, you'll need some professional help.
Any decent bodyshop will charge you a lot because they need to repaint the entire section. It doesn't really make a difference if you have 1 or 10 scratches in the same area because it's the same amount of work.

Please correct me if I'm wrong on anything here.
