I keep on getting emails from Comcast telling me I need to upgrade my Modem. I'm not sure if this is just a sales pitch or I need to actually upgrade
My current setup is a ARRIS TM822 . I got it when I was still running a landline for telephone
I've since given up the landline.
Speeds are good - in the 150's Down

I'm also running a Netgear R6300 for wireless , which seems to run fine.
Opinions requested, do I actually need a new Modem?

Did you ask Comcast why?
When they say you need a new one, are they also conveniently showing you their selection?
I think your modem is fine. Unless your paying for more than 150Mb/s. But even then, a ****ty modem won't pump 150.

By upgrade, they may want you to just power cycle (unplug for ~60 seconds) for a bit. Otherwise the one you have is up to snuff on the DOCSIS side: Xfinity® Telephony Modem TM822 - ARRIS SURFboard

A human has never told me a new one, just mailers and emails on letterhead
Which is why I doubt it's legit
