Do cars try to hit you when you're on foot?

I'm constantly being the target of a$$hole drivers.

People are constantly either revving at me while I'm walking in front of their cars, slamming their brakes to nearly hit me or just plain swerving to go around me in the direction I'm walking.

Recently a Porsche was two inches away from hitting me when I had the light and he was turning right. Jerk just peels out and goes right in front of me, never slowed down and probably never even saw or heard me cursing at him afterward. Totally oblivious of everything and everyone but himself. If I had walked any faster into the crosswalk it would have been ugly.

Does anyone else experience this?

And I only walk when it's legal as jay-walking in this city is a death sentence outright.

i'm a security guard for kaiser, and we got multiple buildings that are across the street from each other, if there are less than 5 attempts on my life daily as i walk from one building to another, i consider that an awesome day

I usually try to get close to clipping people. I do this when some idiots take their sweet *** time at a cross walk (when they are out of time and still have 5 paces to go) or when people think the middle of the road is the place to cross and act like they own it.

If i happen to clip them and take an arm then oh well! I really don't want to hit them in the first place because that would cause me to stop and waste more time explaining it to the cops.

If im too far for the "near miss" i usually stomp my supertones in attempt to disorient them into the chevy tahoe behind me.

you are in SF man what do you expect. I've been working in SF for 6 years. I've seen people get hit, people get nearly hit. I've nearly been hit but see I use my common sense in SF. I figure..SF is full of selfish *** holes that think the world revovles around them. So I am always ready.

Its crazy that a car can be stopped at a stop sign..you make eye contact with them as you are walking across the street and they will still start to drive away as you are walking in front of them....i"m always like...WTF is wrong with you> I am a big man...I will brake your damn CAR...then get up and brake your damn FACE.

I've been hit. It's not as fun as one would think.

I've seen people punk windows. Kick doors. open doors as cars are driving past them. Throw crap at cars. Etc...etc....

I just stay away from buses and taxis. Had a bus drive up the curb I was standing one. I had to lean back to keep fom getting knocked off the curb. I sware I felt the tires rub my foot.

Sisqo...that's the humor.....

Ok other people are getting owned by cars as well.

I feel you on the wanting to get hit fascination...Sometimes I do fanticize about suing some jerk and paying my way through college with the profits, but then again if someone hit me and I lost a leg or arm I wouldn't be able to drive a stick shift any more and I wouldn't trade a stick for an automatic for all the money in the world!

Oh yeah and buses are jerks they get in so many accidents every year, never use turn signals, cut you off... worse drivers on the road. They have a huge automobile with so many people's lives in the hands of one driver, and the lazy person decides to cut corners just to be a few seconds faster.

Cars only try and hit me when I show em my bare ***... Other than that I have a pretty good record.

Many years ago when I still had my Civic (but not enough money to put decent tires on it) I had some bastard I knew from high school that lived in my neighborhood walk as slowly as he could in front of my car while crossing the street at a stop sign I was at.

I set my parking brake, revved my lil b16 up to 7500 RPMs and just dumped the clutch as he was finally passing the front bumper. The car lurched forward several inches but held pretty stable. Needless to say the punk dove for the sidewalk and I think I saw him trying to shake the crap out of his left pant leg in my rear view.
