DIY perfect fit subwoofer enclosure
Audio Solutions sell Perfect Fitment subwoofer enclosure for 02-07 WRX/STI for $349 + TAX + shipping so it comes to $400+.
I managed to make very similar box (if not better) for less than $150 plus 1 week of work.
Let's brake it down:
-1.5 gallons of 3M fiberglass resin - $60
-MDF boards - $15
-brushes -12-15- $1 each, unless you are a painter with hook ups - $15
-fiber glass cloth - $20
-body filer - $20
-flece cloth - free (old blanket)
-terminal + sound deadening material + sub cables - $20
The box is almost ready, I just have to decide if I wanna wrap it with carpet or paint it....maybe Di-Noc wrap, huh?
Pictures are worth more than 1000 words , so let's them speak...

PAINTED WITH PRIMER
FINISHED PRODUCT, I'M GONNA EITHER:

Jack of all trades!
That's some solid work right there. Well done.
Question, when you wrapped it with the fleece, how did you affix it to the back side/fiberglass?

^^^
I used staples but It was PITA because fiberglass is harder than MDF and staples just kept bending.
I also applied more coats of resin and fiberglass to the "face" of enclosure (inside)
The box is very solid and sounds great with 10" Alpine Type R sub, the only problem are vibrations since the enclosure sits very close to the panels of body ....I guess Dynamat is gonna fix it
