Dish500 hacking?

I did the TV method and it was pretty easy. The reception is good, but definitely not cable quality.

Can't wait for the Nba season, hopefully I can pickup Cleveland, Miami and Houston games.

When you say "I did the TV method" - Does that mean the FTA way? And I thought FTA (since receiving signals directly from satellites) would be much clearer than cable. Is this then not true about the quality of FTA channels?

I was referring to positioning the dish for the signal ("TV method") I had a small TV and my wife was there yelling we got signal!

As for quality of the reception, at least for me, it is not as good as cable and on certain channels there is latency (not often but happens).

I have satellite, and on certain channels when there is white letters on a black background, the black "spills over" onto the white letters. Is this latency?

no I've never seen that... what I was talking about was the signal either get lost or freezes for a second. Doesn't happen often though.
