I hate to nitpick, because the majority of your posts are intelligent, however, emotions are nothing like physics.
So what if the unarmed protesters are instigating? LEOs should be held to the HIGHEST standards since they, in theory, maintain peace and justice. If they can't take verbal abuse from some dumbass kids, they are not fit to carry a weapon let alone use it.

Verbal? You really think it is only Verbal abuse? I'm sure they were throwing rocks, bottles and anything else they can get their hands on. Mob mentality throws all common sense and order out of the window. So in order to maintain peace and justice, some people have to be taught the hard way. There is a difference between peaceful protests and outright ignorant mother****ers just looking to get some pay back and act up cause they have a mob of people to back them up.

Second, I only attributed emotions to OP's reaction and suggested retaliation. I think that any public servant, not just cops, should be held accountable to a high degree. Equal and opposite comment was supposed to be a metaphor with all things considered equally and appropriately.

There is a difference between cops drawing on a peaceful protest (not cool)...and showing force against mob of idiots rioting, looting, acting a fool, causing civic unrest, etc etc etc (by all means).

I was taught not to point a weapon at anything I don't intend to destroy, so it does bother me that the cop had it shouldered and pointed at the crowd. But I also have no idea why he chose to do that...did he just lose his cool or a group of people did something stupendously egregious? That's why I want to see the whole footage.

 

Its actually kind of funny... none of us are there, in the action, seeing first hand whats going on. So none of us can say who is right or wrong here... are protestors generally stupid thanks to mob mentality? Absolutely. Are there corrupt cops who abuse the hell out of the power they have? Absolutely. Im sure there is a little of both going on in MO right now. Both sides flexing, trying to get the other side to back down.

Its a ****ty situation, but what do riots and **** ever accomplish? More pain, more violence... its just a dumb situation really.

 

Those peaceful protest you speak of, are they the ones like Cesar Chavez and MLK? Man, I remember seeing those German Shepherds tear **** up.

Total and complete use of excessive force!!! I am sure those cops had bullet proof vests! They could have easily tackled and disarmed the suspect after he ran out of bullets. Plus there is 2 cops, so they only would have had to absorb half the magazine each.
