I like the law... but laws were meant to be broken. Just kiddy. Anyway, I keep my lights on all the time. Especially during winter season because it's darker... and I hate it when people don't have their lights on because sometimes you really just can't see them. but I hate high beams. anyway... yes to lights on.

it makes sence to have this law. I mean, it's safety for others too. Especially if you have really really blacked out windows

In other news, a new law went into effect that says you need to sleep with your hands on the OUTSIDE of your covers.

This just in: Don is Teh 63Y. just kissing. Ok, back to the subject, yeah, lots of monkies on the road, gotta have as much warning as we can if people will be driving. If I was the designer in the navigation systems, I would include a sensor for the sides of the car so it can detect object for the blind spots of the cars. that would be nice.

Good law. Good idea. But warnings should be applied to the first infraction until the law is more well known.

I'm surprised the law makes you turn on only your headlamps and not all of your lights (i.e tail lamps, side markers)...

There should be a law that requires an IQ higher than 70 to drive when your windshield wipers are on. I swear there are a bunch of retards on the road who can't drive in the rain.

I guess I might get to keep my lights off then.

I do agree that you should turn your lights on when it's raining and I always leave mine on anyway.
The text from that CHP pdf says:
"This amendment to the vehicle code requires every motor vehicle, other than a motorcycle, be operated with headlamps lighted when weather conditions require the windshield wipers to be in continuous use."

So if you're cleaning your windshield, your lights don't need to be on. Same if you Rain-X'ed your windshield and don't use the wipers.

If you turn your headlamps on your tail lamps will come on by themselves, it might not happen with DRL, but if you don't have DRL then turning on the headlamps automatically turns on the tails too.

lol, nice...dodging the CA laws... I can just see it now....pouring down rain....but officer, I used Rain-X on my windshield and I dont need to use my wipers.....the law says my lights are only supposed to be turned on if I need my wipers to be in use continuously.

I wonder what the officer would say to that....LOL....knowing CA, Rain-X or anything similar to it, would be outlawed really quick.

Lame if you get a ticket for it..... but i guess it makes sense, if you can't see and you need to turn your windshield wipers on, I guess its a good idea to have your lights on as well...
