seriously! had it changed out 55,000 miles ago @ gst (<3 u tommeh) with oem parts and now im getting the coolant stink

your looking at the bottom of the engine (drivers side header area)


wondering if there might be a hose to blame or is this blatant enough to charge the water pump with immature failure...

 

Kinda hard to tell, Its been awhile since I've looked at mine but I thought there were 2 hoses on the out side of the pump ( only see one in the pic ). One might be split, or I could be that the gasket failed for some reason. Try to take a better look around the pump with a small mirror and see If you can find anything.

 

Have you taken it to a mechanic yet?
Or are you waiting for eMechanics to chime in?

nope haven't had it checked out just thought id snap some pics and get advice on what i could inspect while the car is up for a oil change

valve covers huh? been looking for an excuse to drop in those v-tec cams

on second thought... there is the IS-F

 

fist pump > water pump

 

trade that sucker in for an e92 m3.

Well parts fail. Nothing is 100% bummer that it happened though
