cloud to cloud or sheet is the most likely cause

 

i have seen this twice. once last year and once before that about 2 years ago. this is ****ing weird.

 

Yeah, it was crazy, the entire sky lit up greenish blue - I was scared thinking that the Martinez refinery may have blown up

 

Was there anything weird looking left in the sky afterwords? Sometimes they do ballistic missile tests off the coast, I've never seen the flash but I heard it can be bright, and then there is some weird green/purple smoke like stuff way up in the atmosphere left over, which i've seen before

 

What up Smokey?! It was hard to see because it was dark, cloudy and rainy but we thought we may have seen dark smoke above.... but couldnt say for sure.

What up what up! Chillin in BC.. man.. heading up to Whistler/Blackcomb mountain on Wednesday.. place is huge, there's 2 mountains side by side with a peak-to-peak gondola. You could be up there all day and never reach the bottom of the hill. Think Eli's been there to go heli-skiing.

You sure it was not a pg&e transformer? Then they blow it lights the whole are up a greenish / blue

 

On side note...

I do have some friends that work out on the labs.. They have a working laser that can shoot stuff down now. They love to play with lasers there. Maybe you saw that....
