I mean they hardly ever close down public roads for racing, very few hillclimbs esp. on the west coast, too.

With that kind of loot, you could rent nurburgring for a day for all of your friends to rip it up. Out here Laguna seca, infineon, Thunder Hill, Willow Springs, all for rent. Hell you can either rent the 2.5mile raceway, or the 1.7mile street coarse for $2500 a day at willow springs, which really isn't a bad deal at all, or you could get laguna seca all for yourself for about $10K. While I think the gumball is kind of a neat idea, the endangerment to the public by doing triple digit runs for 3000 miles is a bit scary.

yeah I recall having quite a few brews myself, we had a great time up there!
for sure this kimble guy is a real joke...
funny, his route for the "ultimate rally" is almost an exact copy of the route for the '05 Gumball...it appears that the only thing different is the entry fee and the prize...
I wonder why he's trying to compete with the Gumball, seeing as he's close with the Gumball organizers, and they even coined him the nickname "Doctor Evil"!

I recently saw this in my pm box:
“Join the Ultimate Rally now.
All you need is US$ 30,000, a super car and driving skills.”
Unfortunately, I have none of the above…………..
I really hope that I have $30,000 or a super car or some driving skills….

If I had the kind of money it would take to blow 30 grand on that I would do it in a heart beat. that would be the most intense week of your life, especially if it the route went through third world countries

It might be more than a week- in a turkish prison, not an "intense experience" that I'd look forward to.
I can think of a lot of ways to blow 30G and have more fun.
Like going to France for the Speed Skiing championships!

gee its odd that this "ultimate rally" has almost the exact same course route as the upcoming gumball 3000...with a pricetag 12k higher!

Anyone ask him...
If the course route will only be made available "at the last moment", just how are the people going to get their vehicles transported halfway across the planet, certified for driving off the plane/boat/train, and to the starting line in a matter of a day or two??
Unless of course, you have seven supercars stationed around the world, ready to be driven to the starting line at a moments' notice.
