Ok, I read another forum that has a lot more people on it, spread out across north america, the american half has been flipping out at this discovery:

Yeah, thats right. in canada they sell milk in a bag. WTF this is the MOST ****ed up thing ever in history. and it bothers the hell out of me. if it ever invades the U.S. then i will jump off a bridge.

Apparently they also sell these:

I guess its a plastic thing to store the bags of milk in the fridge with. I still dont know how the hell they pour it or close it back up when they are done....

what is the world coming to, dear god help us all

ok you HAVE to read the FAQ's on that website if you read it at all

Q: Do they have ebonics in Canada?
Q: And if they do, do they say "wud de **** is dat **** aboot?"
A: ...Why are you asking me this?
Q: Just trying to imagine a ghetto-Canadian asking for milk at a convience store.

At my high school the milk came in bags for a short while. They made nice pillows and were perfect for throwing, as they exploded upon impact with a hard object.

In Europe some milk comes in boxes (like soy milk), and doesn't have to be refrigerated until after it's opened.

euh...what's wrong with that? and this is nothing new - maybe it's time for to explore and get out of the country (US) a bit more. I grew up in Canada and always got milk in bags.

nothing wrong with milk in bags per se.. it's just interesting to find out more the why would they sell milk in bags to begin with...
i.e. it doesn't save much space in storing (as compared to a carton)... you have to use a pitcher to dispense it (takes up space) not to mention the storing it open... and personally i just see a carton as more environmentally friendly when compared to a plastic bag?

I don't drink milk, so it doesn't really bother me. If I did buy milk, I would buy the packaging that was more environmentally favored.

Without the USDM plastic milk jugs, how would I transport my used motor oil to the recycling center?

actually.. at least in hk, it's usually 豆奶... and not 大豆汁...
and 奶 is translated as milk...
although yes, it's made from the juice of soybeans.
