Was just watching the local news here in Greece and at least 3 different stations ran a story of an accident that occured last night on one of the main motorways that runs north through Athens. A 40 year old man in a WRX (my02) and his wife and 2 others died when his car lost control at over200kph, hit a guard rail, barrel-rolled in the air and landed on a VW Golf. The images were horrifying. The woman in the subaru was found dead about 10 feet from the car. I could see a Prodrive/Bilstein strut attached to a wheel sitting by itself in the street. The mangled boxer with its wiring flailing about as lifeless as the bodies taken from the wrecks, was sitting 20 meters from the accident.
I feel its important to notify fellow drivers about unfortunate events that occur in Scoobys(rare as they are) as that it helps to quell any over confidence that so many youngsters(including myself)may have after having purchased one. The impreza is a safe and great car but I feel it's performance and handling can be most appreciated at 2nd and 3rd gear speeds rain or shine rather than maxed out on the freeway. I think we can all agree that it only takes the first couple of gears to get the point across to any competetor that we rule anyway!!! Let us drive with controlled aggression and listen to your tires, they'll tell you when you're going too hard
