Definately some aberration in the Force this weekend. I started off the weekend by being rear-ended on my way home, Friday, to get ready for this thing. Only a scratch and a minor ripple near the rear licence plate but...

A real shame that Leo hit that deer. Fortunately no one was hurt (not counting the wildlife) and it happened close to the campground so we were able to tow him in.

The ride quality was rough to say the least. Borderline grim for my co-driver (w/out a sports bra).
lol - obviously I need to get this setup. My ride must be way to comfortable since my navigational unit (aka my 14 yr son) spent almost the entire journey either playing his gameboy or reading his book. I had to keep hitting him to get him to give me the next instruction He said he had fun though.

Tim

Hahahaha... At least you got some directions out of your co-driver. I gave up on mine somewhere around the 2nd or 3rd turn. And nice meeting you Tim.

Hey everybody, The trip was unbelievable. Sorry Huck and i Took off early Sunday morning instead of staying with the group. But i was very tired and wanted to get home for the F1 race on SPEED. It was the last race for the year and i was hoping Kimi Raikkonen would win the championship of M. Schumacher. And of course Micheal ends up winning.

psoper thank you so much again. I was very happy that we got the time to hangout and talk till 2am. I got to know the people alot more. Including Daredevil's HOT mom.

Leo, i hope everything works out OK. And that your girl isn't traumatized too badly by having a buck almost die in her lap.

Huck the drive home was great. Taking thoughs corners as fast as we were going. Alot of fun.

Pete next year.... I'm already counting the days.

hey people! thanks for your concerns. My gf and I got back safe and sound. I ended up renting an auto mover and a truck from Uhal and tow the car back to Santa Cruz for repair. The damage wasn't as bad as I thought. Everything was good. One of the mechanic said if I pull the radiator out a little and replace the hose I should be able to drive it. The final estimate from Fortuna was about $5700. We'll see how much from Carmat (I don't really care since they do good work and insurance company is going to pay for it.)

boy, this was an expensive trip! ~1k due to the damage (detuctable, towing, hotel, etc...)

I don't know if your friend is the one that contacted me before I took off for the trip. I hope this doesn't discurage him from thinking of buying my car. The car will be put back like new in no time. Just about nothing will be fix, all will be replaced.

Virus is a strong car. after the hit, it was still running, just without the radiator.

dude leo that sucks ***. im so sorry to hear that, especially after all the bad luck stories you told us about that car. hope all is well, and may the rs be alive and well soon.

it sounds like a great drive. all the squirrel deaths seem a bit sad ( ) but those little buggers nearly got me into many accidents as well.

glad everyone is ok and hopefully ill be joining you guys for the next drive. i need new tires though.

oh folk with alk's howd you like it, how was the ride quality?

Dude, Leo has the worst luck with deer.

Sorry to hear about your car, and glad to hear Leo's OK after *another* homicidal deer attack.

btw- due to the lack of skid marks or other damage to the deer, and the damage to your hood, it looks like that fella went over your roof. Glad you and your girlfriend didnt end up with it in your lap.

Huch, i still can't believe your pictures didn't come out. Isn't this the second time we've had this problem with the same camera?

Leo,

If you need a car to drive around town, let me know. You can use mine. All I ask is you bring it back by the time I get off work.
