Dead battery?

Anyone ever experience a dead battery on their suby?

I was in the UK for a month and came back and she fired up... well more like sputtered up. Then I had to fly back out to the UK for another week, so the car sat for a total of a month, fired up, then a week.

Today, I finally get back home and she won't start. All the electrical seems to work except for the radio, my LC-1 (which is giving me a low voltage error), and my V1 (which is hooked up to the map light, but the map light still works), also all the fuses seem to be fine.

Questions: is my battery dead? Its an '04 STi with the stock battery, should I just replace the battery or try to jump it in the morning? Any recommendations if I replace it?

Try to jump it in the morning and drive it around for a while see how it holds a charge. If its not holding a charge well then get a new battery.

Are STi sealed batteries? My battery was slowly dying, then I noticed the fluid in them was pretty low. Refilled it with some distilled water, and that solved it.

I tried jumping it this morning and it didn't help. The batteries aren't sealed. When you refilled with water did you have to refill each opening? There are like 6 screw tops that you can fill w/ water.

I would assume they'd be the same or at least similar batteries. The life of the battery depends on things like climate temperature and how many times its been drained before. Ifth battery has had a hard life (cold weather, killed often) it may very well be time for a new one. The one in my bugeye lasted about 4 years

put a trickle charger on your battery for a day or two. The slower you charge it the longer it will last. If that doens't work just put in a new battery.

You might want to disconnect the negative battery terminal next time you leave for more than a couple days.
