Anyone that pays taxes or has remote respect or decency for other humans ought to be outraged regardless of position on marijuana usage.
The most striking point here is the blatant disregard for this human's life, but in case that doesn't resonate with you for whatever reason, consider the fact that your tax dollars are going to pay for this law suit.

I don't think that is the point there. We are protected against cruel and unusual punishment in this country.
He was innocent and "released" They then forgot about him and left him in complete isolation for 5 days with no food or drink. That is the very definition of cruel and unusual punishment. He has every right to be sue and he will win.
So was the bust for ecstasy really worth it? It cost money to run that sting and it's going to cost a lot more money to pay for this guys false imprisonment.
The war on drugs is often a HUGE waste of money. We spend billions of dollars a year on weed busts big and small. Billions. Instead it could be decriminalized. You can then tax it and/or leave it a finable offense at certain levels and make money off of fines like we do off fix it tickets. Make money don't spend money. It's the basis of getting our asses out of this hole.
Spend that money and effort on all the heroine we're probably turning blind eye to coming out of Afghanistan and directly funding terrorism.

And even if he was arrested for smoking pot, growing it, whatever it was... The DEA has NO RIGHT to lock someone up like that. Since when did the DEA become the Turkish prison system?
I hope this kid gets a lot of money, but also hope he also gets those idiots fired.

-Kid busted for smoking weed in a ecstacy bust
-Kid left in cell for 5 days without food, water, toilet
-Kid finds meth powder in said cell and then uses it and trips *****
-Kid drinks urine to stay alive
-DEA agrees with all of this
Dunno man it sounds like something youd find in the National Inquirer. Even if DEA ****ed up, I dont see why they would just openly admit it. Kid now has meth in his system so they could claim he hallucinated the entire ordeal. Entire story is a giant WTF.

There are so many WTFs? in this story. Makes me a little skeptical of it all.

But we need to keep those privatized prisons full and making tons of money!
