Dampier got traded to the Mavs
plus 2 1st rd picks and cash. laetner and najara better be in the last year of their contracts. man I don't know what mullin is doing over spending on fisher and foyle. then trading away nick when he is last year and now this trade.
I too am thinking that Mullin has no clue what he doing. Sure, like we need 2 more power forwards (and ones that suck). C'mon man, Laettner had his prime in college. The only plus is getting rid of Eschmeyer (bench rider who still made ~4 million (?) last year)...but we need some consistant players. We have this incestuous relationship with both Dallas and Washington when it comes to trades. They are getting the number four rebounder, and we are getting some guy that averaged 4 points a game last year. I'm tired of all the rebuilding, give me a team!!!!! The Warriors are always looking to trade down. I was hoping for a change for the better.

where are you seeing all this?
I don't see it on the warriors site or on the nba site?
if it's all true and finalized, man I don't know what mullin is doing. Collecting mediocre players?
I mean dang man....too many useless forwards. I like the 2 picks.
maybe they'll trade foyle or trade away another player or two...right now it looks like they have 2/3 too many players? and 3 1st round picks for the future? hmm.
so maybe they are gonna tank this year and try to stock up next year and make this like a 3/4 year plan...but I just don't see it...the pressure is on mullin and co. to do better THIS season. new coach and what not...it's now or look stupid.

The trade won't go down till next month because you can't trade a player twice in a certain amount of time and Dan Dickau's part of the deal an him and laettner both got traded last month.
you know mullins just wanted the 2 picks...
laetner is over. any big man from duke is... cherokee parks? yeah he played for the warriors too.
that nahara dude is trade bait or will just outright released.

I like Eduardo Najera's hustle. The guy works hard defensively and offensively. He doesn't put a lotta numbers on the stat sheet, but he makes a difference off the bench to spark runs and create opportunities. That's my impression from watching him play for the Mavs.

supposedly the warriors are doing the trades to make a lot of cap room for the next off-season. i think richardson and murphy's contracts are up after this season. I wouldnt be surprised if any of the guys they have traded for are not on the team by the start of next years season.
the foyle deal isnt so bad cause the final year is a team option and worth like 10 million. so the real deal is 5 years ~30 million. thats not a bad deal for a big man.
fisher is a grade A loser though.

Not my favorite guy in the world but he plays hard. hussles and for the most part he's pretty consistant...and he's been around winning teams..maybe he can bring some of that over. I'm kinda getting sick of people bashing the guy actually. I'd rather have him that van exel. Besides....he's not gonna start anyways. (hope not...claxton rips)

fisher is too slow to defend anyone. sure, he hit 1 shot when everyone was guarding shaq and kobe. and if you are comparing people who can hit big shots.. Then Van Exel has made MANY MANY MANY more BIG SHOTS than Fisher ever will. ok, fisher hit 1 shot to wina playoff game. Van Exel CARRIED the mavs 2 playoffs ago himself! It was unfortunate that van exel was injured last year.
Claxton is better than fisher in every way possible.. why spend buckoo bux on a backup PG?

I agree that they spent WAY too much for fisher.
I think they could have gotten him for about 60% of what they paid. But I think with the state of the warriors. New coach. Young players. No winners. Can't finish games. Players like fisher....might not be the best ballers in the league but they know how to close out games, they know how to recover from big losses or how not to let down after big wins, they can work with younger guys and help usher them to the next level. Plus he's a good locker room guy. I don't think he was a bad guy to bring in...just too expensive.
As for exel. I've always thought the guy was a good baller. He can score with the best of them when needed. But he doesn't fit the team, the system, etc. He's getting up in age and I think this injury is the first of many. He gives up on plays, can be a rediculous ball hog, not the best guy in the locker room.... I'd rather have fisher with a guy like claxton on the floor...good solid back up and good leader. Exel not on the floor every minute equals constant *****ing.
all I have to say is they better freaking keep the core that they have..i think they're gonna be good. J. Rich is a great athlete and every season he improves his week spots. Claxton is going to be a great floor leader....already a really good defender and consistant shooter. Murphy is damn solid forward. if he stays healthy and plays with a bit more emotion he'll be good for a lot of years. Dunleavy surprised the crap out of me last year. Kind of a jon barry guy. Good heart. Can rebound. Good shooter. As his confidence rises he'll drive more and play better D.
I really think they just need to grow. Have a couple of great shooters...like robinson last year. A more consistant big man...dampier was looking great at times..then he's score 6 points. claxton and rich improving....I like the way things feel.
I still miss arenas though...haa.

JRich needs to work on his 1 on 1 skills. Because he can't drive very well to the basket. I've seen him settle for too many jump shots when he should've driven in to the basket.
As for this season, I think the most improved player will be Pietrus.

I think you're right on both accounts..
jrich is ok at driving...it's more of a heart thing with him I think. I mean if he just realized that he could jump over pretty much everyone in the nba and worked on a first step or a cross over..he'd be deadly. his jumper is coming around...but just uses it too much...a lot like jammison was. Jammison had so many freaking moves under the hoop but he would settle for the jumper cause he was lazy or not confident enough...then he'd get pissed and put up 50. I think that's rich right now...I hope this is his year...I really do.
