Hey folks! First of all I drive a 2001 blue RS with a syms body kit and hids. Some of you have probally seen me driving around fremont and hayward area. First of all i have a tanabe racing medallion exhaust on my car (which is hella loud hee hee). well long story short a newark cops claiming to be part of the street racing task force for newark. he cited me for my exhaust my aem intake and clear corners. now i have to go to state referee to get these signed off. is there any loop holes around this or what should i do. do i need to change everything back to stock? aiiiii that would be a hassle. or is there any way around this at all? any info or insight will be greatly appreciated.

Dam wtf. I live in Newark and never heard of this "street racing task force". I drive my 99RS around Newark all the time and never got bothered for my exhaust, and I have all my lenses cleared out too.

I don't mean this condescendingly... just consider the positives... you actually have it kinda easy. Be happy you don't have a turbo, dp and injectors to remove.

I will have my friend ask the Captain at Newark to see if there is a street racing task force. He never told me about it when I took his class. Anyways, just put your stuff back to stock and have the ref check it off. No risk in trying to scam the system, your just asking to get caught and have to deal with more shi*t.

Good luck.
Like Lurk said, u can pay off the ticket if there is a sticker on the back that the cop puts on. If the cop wrote on the back of the ticket stating that u have to go to state ref. then u have no way out of it. But if u have just an AEM intake and an exhaust then i recommend u puttin it back to stock and taking it to state ref. It'll be cheaper. State ref is only 80 bucks and u get 3 tries to pass it. State ref. is just like every other smog station, but a lil bit more strict. If u wait for the ticket to come in the mail and just pay off the ticket then that'll be about 250+ i know that for a fact because i've gotten a state ref ticket and buddies that had a couple.
