Damn! my car got hit!
I just wanted to vent to all on what had happened. Before I was going to work I usually warm up my car and I had noticed a note on my windshield. I thought it was someone trying just to advertise something, but there was something written on there and said, "Due to a blindspot..." I already knew when I read that part I checked my car, and when I noticed my whole left front fender was smashed in, I mean it looks painful to look at. My car is not even a year old and this had to happen, I put so much money into it and this is what I get. Oh well, first thing in the morning i'm going to call my insurance company and luckily the person who hit my car left there number and information needed for the insurance. Any one know of a good body shop in the bay area?

Wow, an honest person... you... are so lucky. It may not seem like it now but you are. At least it's only your fender, bolt a new one on. Easy enough (hopefully it's only your fender) and they left their info for you.
I don't know where to take it.

Get a new fender. If they fix the old one you will walk by and in your head always have a little discontent and a few choice words with your car. If you get a new one the cars body is flawless.

Another note, most dealerships don't have body shops but they do usually have one that they recommend so you might check that out.

Yeah when i get home in the morning I'll double check to see if there's additional damage to my car. You guys know if the insurance will pay for aftermarket parts that are damage? I have some tein basic coilovers setup and it looked like the dent was pretty deep into the fender and hopefully it didn't ruin my axel or alignment.

If you talk to the guys at the body shop before the insurance guys look at the car you should be able to work something out even if the insurance guys say "fix the fender". if they get x amount of $ to repair the old fender and re-paint, you might have them order a replacement fender and repaint. if the fender needs alot of work then just the repair time is worth the same as a new fender
Lucky for you to have the other driver be honest. Work with your insurance company, they should waive your deductible since not your fault and you have other drivers info. Similar thing with our '06 STi. We went to Baron Von Frier in Berekely. Excellent service and quality. However, I believe the car never looks as good as new. That's the way it is. The other shop we considered checking is Avenue Body Shop in San Carlos (650-591-0381). Carlson Subaru recommended them to us. Baron's phone # is 510-841-7290. Baron is fairly expensive to the non-insurance customer. They won't cut corners. German Auto Body in Santa Clara is also a great shop, usually only German Cars unless a repeat customer. We would have been fine going there too. New body parts aren't always perfect.
Fenders and doors getting stored, and moved around, sometimes brand new still has minor inperfections. That's life in the body shop business. Hope this all works out ok for you.

Top notch work, but you must apply the
Bodyshop Constant Formula
that is take however long you are quoted and double it.
This formula applies to any bodyshop.
