I've used e-surance for about 8 years and have had two major claims though them, both handled flawlessly. Monthly is just under $80

I just switched to esurance after my wife got another accident and our previous carrier dropped us. My rates for ME driving the 03 wagon are a bit lower, but inline with that considering I didn't do loan gap, rental and roadside.
Glad to hear you've had no problems with claims, that's the only thing that I was concerned about with them. Sounds like I don't need to worry.

Oh yeah.. we're not going to talk about my wifes rates... they're still cheaper with esurance than anywhere else.... but they are stupid.

I was shocked at how good they were. I had a hit and run claim where someone tagged my V6 accord while it was parked in the street. It happened at about 10am at night. I had it towed to South Valley auto since I already know their work, the adjuster was there at 2pm the day after it happened. The work was done a little slow, but it had nothing to do with esurance, just the slow workers. Initial estimate was $7500 which they authorized no problem but there was a lot of hidden damage and ended up being close to $15k which they still paid without even twitching. They kept flawless phone records and the longest it took from a price bump to authorization was 17 hours because the shop made the request at 5pm and it was authorized at 10am the next morning
They also didn't have any problems with paying for a rental car for the whole month the car was getting fixed, I got a killer deal too, Enterprise was out of econoboxes but my limit was $25 a day, so they worked a deal where I paid an extra $5 a day and got a chysler pacifica, pretty nice car for being an SUV.
I had another booboo pulling into a McDonalds parking lot with the wagon and there was a bunch of leaves covering a 3" deep 12" wide ditch(with perfectly vertical sides) that they didn't fill in right after putting in new lights. I slowly pulled forward and just as I clutched in and got ready to pull the ebrake the car slowly rolled forward dropped in the ditch setting the nose of my car on the curb, and I NEVER curb my car. This happened on a saturday and I filed a claim the same day. The adjuster came to my work at 9am Monday morning and gave me the quote. I took it to get fixed that day which took 2 days and got the check the following Tuesday. My rates didn't go up at all for either accident.
I've been really impressed with them.

I pay $39/paycheck, 2 cars, same coverage as my former, auto deduct, from Metlife with our company discount at work. Just switched over from Farmer's after more than 15 years with them. Saved me $900/year !
+1 for ESurance. I pay $118 /month for full coverage, pretty high limits and middle (like $500) deductables on my '06 STi - over $50 less a month than Progressive which I had before. Progressive gave me pretty good (at the time) online quote. About 3 weeks after I paid for 6 months - they sent me a letter saying that there was some type of premium adjustment for new info they found. I have a clean record so I don't know what it was. I was too lazy to do anything so I just paid the extra amount which was like $120 for 6 months.

2 points on your license will disqualify you for California Good Driver discount. 1 point and you still qualify, but the reason your premium went up is because you are getting surcharged for having a point.
Technically you don't have to have insurance, but then you'd have to buy a bond from the state. You have to have proof of financial responsibility, which a bond can do for you. Having said that, I don't think people normally do that, although it is an option.

OK i just dropped those bastards and went with esurance. I got 3 people on the policy, 1 point (friggin scam, they shouldn't have put that on). 2 cars, 2003 corolla is the other. 50k/100k liability, 50k property damage, 50k/100l uninsured motorist/bodily injury. 250 bucks deductible.
935 bucks / 6mo. ... without the point it would have been 813.
Interestingly she couldn't pull up the vin number of my rex either. I hope they don;t jack it up after 6 months.
