Yeah, I'm sure everyone loves RX-7s . Expensive to maintain though, with how weak the engine is, but still one awesome car.

since when is a rotary weak? It can produce a HUGE amount of power and still be reliable as long as you do the proper reliability mods and take care of it.

I too love those cars. Perferct size, nice and small like a sports car should be. I was driving behind one on Ygnacia Valley in WC the other night. Thing was so damn beautiful it brought teers to my eyes. Or, maybe that was just his exhaust fumes... gotta love a car running catless!

they are easy to coax power out of, but even stock rotaries are ticking timebombs! I have several Mazda buddies--old school RX2-3's all the way up to FD3S TT's, and not a single one was very reliable/trouble free.

Only good buy is the Miata, and not many guys, aside from real motosport fans (auto-x, road/track racers) would be caught driving those.

I didn't mean the power, but how they built it. There's plenty of FD3Ss that are out there with rebuilds. A 1.3L producing around... 270? with a lot of power that's easily obtainable, but I mean with how many RX-7s requiring rebuilds due to the engine breaking. Even SCC and other magazines state that with the RX-7 they are just waiting to go with the build of them.

I agree that with the proper care, they can last for quite a while, but one would think that for an engine not to blow between 50-100k miles while using it as a daily driver.

100k+ miles = lotsa grief from the Rotary
But it's GREAT while it lasts, right?
