Damn Asians and their lack of parking skills
So I'm parked at the 99 Ranch on Hostetter/Lundy to have lunch, as far away from others cars as possible. Come back to find a nice 3 inch long gash along the passenger-side corner of my rear bumper - with no cars parked on either side of me. Looked like someone tried to park on my right but managed to scrape some paint right off. Goddamnit.
I always hate parking there during lunchtime. Freakin crowded as hell and half the people don't even look before backing out of their spot.
You're probably thinking, what an ignorant racist ***** for assuming it was an asian driver and stereotyping them. Well I'm Chinese so it's somewhat in jest - and you all know us asians can't drive.

Still think being asian is cool?
Oh, but sucks about your bumper
Is it worth getting your insurance involved?

Sucks about your car man, I know how it feels... However, being asian, as you said... You should have known better then to park in 99, be it lunch, dinner, early morning... 99 = Death for your car... I'm from SoCal, and beleive me, our 99's are no different. You can park on the roof and some dumbarse will find a way to ding it, or scratch it... Unfortunately, they just do not care.. Anway, sorry about your car mate... Hopefully next time there will be ample parking across the street next time your there...

Is it worth getting your insurance involved?Nah not worth contacting insurance over. It's not really that bad. Just looks like a thick line - maybe 1/8" x 3" or so. Nice black line stands out really badly against aspen white though.

I got the scratches around it filled pretty well with a few scratch/swirl removal applications. Tempted to try and cover the line up with touch up paint.

Seems like at least once a month there's some kind of minor collision or scrape in that parking lot. In the past few months I remember seeing a Benz and BMW both with a smashed taillight and scraped corner on two separate occasions.
Unfortunately across the street is ANOTHER asian strip mall which doesn't help any.

Back when I had my M3 I stopped at the local Foodmaxx on my lunchbreak to grab food on the way to my house. On a whim I decided to drive down the parking row to a serries of 3-4 unused slots. I parked, got out of my car, and started walking to the store. I was probably 5 ft away when here comes this old toyota 4runner trying to turn into the slot next to me. Now the way the parking stalls were angled, it had to make a 3/4th U-turn. Apparently this was too hard a driving manuver as it ended up wraping its back tire around my right rear bumper. I having watched this happen in slow-mo screamed at the driver who amazingly enough stopped. I run to my car, get in, drive forward off the 4runners tire rather then let them do more damage disconnecting themselves. The 4runner parks, the driver gets out, its a 16year old little asian girl. She had come straight from passing her driving test (it was her 16th bday) at the DMV down the street. Do not pass go, do not collect 200, procede straight to my bumper. The car already had badly done bodywork that was breaking down so there was no real noticeable damage. so i said fu*kit and just let her go. The girl was damn lucky I was there to stop her from doing any real damage.
ok, i realized this was way to long a post.. basically the moral of the story is parking where there are no cars next to you is an excercise in futility.
