From what I've seen before I just bought my bugeye wagon; anywhere from $7k-$10k based upon condition/mileage.
7-10k range is blob eye territory. I would never buy a bugeye for more than 6k unless it was under 150k miles and zero problems.

FXTbrah 05-26-2014 12:02 PM
How much are bugeye's worth now a days? Ive been seeing people with bugeye's asking 10k just because they have a BOV, short shifter etc. and with hella miles on it too.
4-6k unless low mileage, well maintained, good mods, etc.. Pricing also peaks and valleys depending on the time of year.

Yea, he's high. Sure SRP is rare (and quite beautiful I might add), but the insurance company isn't going to pay me $8k when I drive it away and some idiot smashes it. WRX's are a dime a dozen and in my opinion don't hold a resale value like the 98-01 2.5RS.

actually the insurance would most certainly pay out 8k for an 03 WRX. Insurance companies go off blue book which is better for WRXs than the street price, at least around here. Rich (Bushido) just got an 11k payout for his 100K+ mile 02 WRX he totalled. Would have prob only gotten 7k on CL for it.

High book on that SRP wrx is $5700.
High book on that SRP wrx is $5700.
Which, of course, means absolutely nothing.

04GG 05-27-2014 10:55 AM

Appears to be in decent shape aside from mileage, so I don't think that price is TOO high, but probably won't get asking price. I don't think it is an unreasonable starting point for it.

jakeg 05-27-2014 11:37 AM

The SRP seems like a fair asking price, not a deal.

I sold my 02 wrx wagon. Just at 100k miles. body wasnt perfect and it needed the 105k timing belt service. It sold for $7,000.

To an insurance company it would. Wouldn't it? For loan or total payout?

ZeR0 05-27-2014 12:12 PM

Insurance companies will not just give you book value, they give an approximate value compared to the market and what others cars that are similar are selling for

jakeg 05-27-2014 12:15 PM

Banks/Credit unions give more than Blue book as well. Sold my RS KBB was around $3-$4k. Buyer received a little over $5k on the note.

Sold my 04 with 125K on the clock for just under $10K which was a bit above blue book though I had done pretty much everything on it through the 120K service too.

They also have mileage and age cutoffs for what they will lend for too though.
