That one is still available. Offer him less for it and ask to see the before pictures. He told me he only had to replace the passenger fender and a couple other parts. Then get it inspected. It may still be worth it!

Bought of CL. :)

I drool over the mileage on this 01 SRP wagon. If it was 5MT, it'd be super hot. Gray interior instead of tan.
yeah it looks nice, but i dont think its worth $25000, plus the phrase "sold as is" makes me wonder.
"Sold as is" is normal for anything used unless you specifically negotiate other terms. Given that this is a private seller, he is probably not going to provide a warranty or money back if you don't like it.

$25,000 sounds like a lot to me, but beauty is in the eye of the beholder as they say.

I would be so torn up if someone actually offered to buy it though...I really love it. :P

EpsilonK 05-18-2006 12:48 PM

04 wrx. aprox 40k miles. Warranty out to 80k. 17" Rota Tarmacs. Just got Cobb AP, running stg 1 for the last three weeks. Windows tinted, and pretty nice two way alarm. 6 disc changer. Cold weather package, heated seats!!! (From the factory), heated mirrors, heated windshield, etc. It also has the factory option power moonroof, which either pops up, or slides inside. Kinda nifty. I personally haven't seen any other wrx with it in person at any of the meets, and def haven't seen the heated seats in any one elses ride. Awesome in the winter.... :D

JBP is pretty sweet, but hard to fix if it gets messed up.

If you just keep firm on your price, you will never have to be torn up! ;)

Seriously, I don't understand why people think modding your car is an investment. Case in point is that '02 WRX in CL advertised for $26k. It will just plain never sell for that period. I would bet on it. Besides that it's a poorly written add and doesn't say anything about the engine swap...

That SRP car is also very overpriced. It's sad, but true. I have tried to sell a couple modded cars for a 'fair' price thinking someone might see the value in all the time and money I had spent, but I always, without fail, end up demodding and selling stock for a SELLING price.

I love my '01 GM6, seriously, love it. However, if I could get anything even close to 'fair' money out of it, I would sell it immediately. If I ever have to sell it, I will be forced to de-mod it, and sell it stock - there's just no choice. I would get the same money either way, just if I demod it I will feel better about the price, it will be easier to sell (this is true) and I will get more money in the end.
I wanted to get this one, but it has a salvage title :(

http://www.craigslist.org/sby/car/161291056.html
I need to find the time to check out this car. If it's not bad, I can move all my mods over and sell mine, then have money for my swap finally. Once I swap a car I am never selling it ever, so it wouldn't matter that it's salvage if it's not a nasty rebuild. Same colour, layout, everything.

Marc - that wagon is pretty hot, but I still like yours better. You need a waist spoiler!!!

Its one of those things, where I am not really looking to sell it, but if someone came up and offered that to me, I might accept it....dunno really, but that would at least make me consider it. :p
I never really thought of adding stuff to my car as an investment....its just some way to blow my money that is fun, and that I might be able to sell for some fraction of what I paid later....oh well....
Yeah, if I really wanted to sell it, I would take the extended warranty and cash it out, I only got it 6k miles ago, and about 2.5 months, so that would be a good chunk of change...and I could sell the wheels seperate and throw on some stockers, and sell the AP seperate, and then I could sell the wrx for 18000....but meh, I am not really that motivated to sell it. Unless I had someone walk up and offer 18, then I might bother with all that. lol.
I really want an R-6..... :D

The thing is, most people have no idea wtf is on their car and most people lie in ads. Anyone who buys that car for $20k without test driving it (it says 'no test drives' in the ad which just adds to the stupidity) for the most part deserves what they get.

Seriously retarded.
not yet, tons of interest though... people are just too lazy to come see it. At least the lowball offers have decreased... I know I'm gonna lose money but that's the way it goes...
No reserve...for real?

dSpec 07-13-2006 10:16 PM

Ok, so it's not an Impreza...

But this is still a great deal for a Forester XT, 15k mi., but was in an accident.

I keep looking at that one... mmmm, black...

Yin 07-13-2006 11:06 PM

^ think its salvage title?

Rat 07-14-2006 08:03 AM

No, I think it's clean. It sounds like it was a minor accident just affecting the body panels...

pleiad7 07-14-2006 08:27 AM

That's a nice looking Forester... super low miles too. '04 was the best year for the FXT IMHO, but maybe I'm just biased. ;)

Rat 07-17-2006 01:48 PM

another one...

^ oh man thats just waiting for a swap

Rat 07-17-2006 02:43 PM

sure is! and some body work... too bad the rear quarter panel took a beating...

Yin 07-17-2006 02:50 PM

that dent is totally fixable. i bet he could be talked down on the price too.

Rat 07-17-2006 02:58 PM

true... it's a deal for someone!

Yin 07-19-2006 11:58 AM

My buddy just totalled his '93 FD, his dreamcar. Surprise stop on an on-ramp, there was crap on the road, ploooey. Anyway, trying to get him to pick up this car... Would be a sweet project!

He just got back from checking it out - apparently it has a few leaks (tranny, eng), driver's window doesn't work, clutch is shot, front bumper is misaligned and pretty messed up, etc. He's passing.

Yin 07-19-2006 04:47 PM

^ with slight body work, still a good candidate for a swap if the tranny and engine are gonna be replaced anyway. but yeah, easier to just start with a solid shell with a ton of miles on the engine.

Totally, and he said the guy was really cool about it and up front about everything. For him, the engine/trans didn't matter but the interior seemed pretty trashed with stains and spills etc as well as the other broken stuff. It would be the best candidate for a track car. Even if I swapped, I would still want the rest of the car to be in good shape (just me).

I'll keep my eyes open...

Maybe I'm thick but what's an FD?

SubyN00by 07-19-2006 07:20 PM

3rd Generation RX-7 w/ twin turbo 13B. Amazing car except they pop motors a lot. My favorite car handlingwise. Truly amazing.
