Craigslist -- D'oh! Roadbike thief!

Yesterday I was going to buy a road bike when some other dude picked it up. Now its on ebay for $100 more than what was asked for last night.

Arrrgh! I can understand wanting to make $100, but I was planning on actually using the bike...

I'm a bit angry right now and want to blow off some steam. If anyone is selling their road bike (54-58) let me know.

I used to mtb fairly often when I lived in Arizona. I spent last weekend cleaning the bike up and putting on my roof rack.

I want the road bike as a commuter. No sense in driving when I can ride.

I've been bike commuting since the start of March. Man it's nice! I ride a Cervelo Soloist. What other roadies do we have hiding in here?

I don't want to post a link to it, 'cause I don't want anyone to see/buy it. No free advertising from me!

I want an aluminum frame with carbon fork and maybe carbon seatpost. Nothing too fancy. The cheap stuff is good for me now, when I get into it more I can upgrade.

My price range is around $500 for a used bike. I'm looking for something that costs around $900 new. Specialized Allez and Trek 1200 are the types of bikes I'm looking at.

also look at giant, raleigh, and khs. they offer similar component packages at better prices than the biggies like trek and specialized. imo, most major manufacturer frames at that price range are pretty much the same, alot of the price has to do with the name. but i will keep an eye out for all that fall into your category

Yeah, but I've always liked Specialized's geometry both road and mountain. They always felt unique.

I test drove a handful of bikes recently and I thought the specialized road bikes felt better.

But to be honest, the first time I rode a Gary Fisher mountain bike I fell in love. It blew me away. Nothing has given me that feeling on a road bike.

Ive always been a big advocate for test riding lots of bikes, the subtle differences suit different people differently.

How many variations on different can I use.....?

Where one person might swear by one certain bike- its really a personal preferences thing, the next guy might not like it at all.
