if you care at all about German kinda stuff, there are a couple of excellent German restaurants in SF:

Suppenkuche

Walzwerk

I've eaten at both, and I think I prefer Walzwerk because it's not nearly as loud. If you want loud, the Suppenkuche is the way to go. Also, they have a beer garden they've just installed in the Hayes Valley park along Octavia.

Get tickets to the 49ers home game this Sunday. You don't get that in Germany.

Problem is that they don't have football in Germany so he'd just be confused.

Also, in terms of food, probably will hit China Town since they don't have that there.

Well thanks for your exuberant answer, but when I had family visiting from Germany that's something they expressed an interest in before arriving. I've never been to Germany, so they said they wanted to make sure the food I was eating here was authentic enough. Also, it was just one of many suggestions posted here, so GFY.

Food trucks? I bet there's a lot of stuff there that you can't get.
Korean food in Santa Clara
Japanese food
Actually, the other thread about dinner plans has a lot of great food options.

But for things to do, hike (Muir Woods)? Bike/Run across the Golden Gate Bridge to Sausalito? Take the ferry back. Alcatraz island.

Beginning to sound like a man-date lol

You guys rock, thanks for the great suggestions.

I'll have to talk to my wife tonight and see which of these we can do.

Oh, and in regards to Mexican food, I live in SJ so there will be plenty of that. One thing that you can't get in Deutschland is fajitas and burritos! It's a trip.
