Sounds like a good idea to me. I'd much rather pay more up front and less monthly. At least this way I don't get robbed paying tax on the "full price" of the phone.

probly $10 or so. figure that ATT subsidizes $200 of each iphone setup with a new 2yr agreement. $200/24mo=$8.33 per month

 

man i just buy another phone but dont tell them about it lol. i dont use data plans like internet anyways.....so it doesnt matter much to me. ill just get charged per usage

 

it also depends on your phone buying habits. Some people go through phones like crazy, gotta get the newest gadgets on the block.

The breakthrough here, is that if you do this under the new T-mobile plan, you pay less for usage than someone who bought with subsidy + 2 year contract would pay.

I have owned 2 cell phones ever in my life. I don't really use it much, but I carry it with me and use it when I need to. So if I can buy a phone that doesn't have all the bling features I don't use, and pay $10 less a month, it's a lot of savings over the 4-5 years I'll end up keeping that phone.
