Now for good old American Ingenuity, and that means Bush was NOT involved, the people who brought us the Segway people mover thingy, have a a wheel chair which operates on the same principle utilizing six (if I rember correctly) separately driven and independent wheels also using their patented centrifugal technology. I was present when Dean Kamen, the CEO did a 45 minute speech balanced on two of its wheels, moving around the stage!
