So played black ops for the first time last night. Initial impressions were, well... bad
Graphics arent very great, single player is very generic and enemy AI is amazing at taking you out. Got annoyed with campaign quit after 3 missions.
Multiplayer isnt much better, they really should have gone with the cod6 engine.

Basically, it looks and feels like COD2. If this game had come out 3-4 years ago, I might have been impressed.

I feel like activision has been paying off all the major game review critics, there is no way this game is 9/10 or 5/5 on some sites

 

I rate the black ops campaign higher than MW or MW2 but the multiplayer lower. im not sure what it is about the multiplayer but it just isn't as fun as MW2 or MW.

 

Seriously 9/10 or 5/5 is a bunch of BS. I give the game a 7.5 out of ten.

 

ratings these days are total **** anyway. the new MOH got a 6's... that game was a huge steaming piece of **** that deserved no more than a 4.

so knock 20% off the reviews scores figure that's about right. just because reviewers are **** slobbing it doesn't mean its a **** game, ive loved it so far.

 

i've played almost 2 hours of the multi-player and it's definitely fun, but not as fun as MW2. Like others have said, it's not as smooth and doesn't have the same chaotic feel MW2 has. But it's still fun. It'll hold me over until GT5, whenever that happens.

 

anyone else having tons of trouble with black ops on ps3?

the game constantly freezes. This happens during the intro movie, and also during SP and MP. i have to do a hard reset on the ps3 because holding down the power button does nothing.

ive also only been able to connect to MP like 5 times. i keep getting a message saying connection timed out. this is so frustrating...im about to go return the game

 

I get that too...I have a feeling that a patch is on the way soon, I hope!
Everything is super slow and glitchy, and towards the end of almost every match I get disconnected!

 

I've been playing bar bones for multi player. All the perks and attachments have too much advantage.

Gameplay feels a bit sluggish at times. I can't tell whether it's the servers or the game.

 

same here! this is the best CoD story so far, and has the most diverse gameplay of any of them, my only real gripe is the lagging/stutering though Im sure that will be quickly patched so Im not holding that against them (yet) otherwise yeah 8.5-9 out of 10 for me

 

I'm playing story mode on Hardened and damn i've died hella times already.
