well i finally got a ecu. its a cobb stage 2 and so far i like it. no engine knockin or pinging. the power that comes from this ecu is pretty good. it seems like on the freeway and up hill it has alot of power.

Texas gas is the nectar of the gods (93+ octane, cheap). Lots of folks there loved COBB.

I decided against ECU tricks when I moved to CA since the gas here is mixed with horse pee and corn alcohol. Might as well run cars on bananas and grapes.

how much is a ecutek tune? i have a scoobysport dp and helix upp, stock everything else. im not totally happy with my cobb ap cali either.

ecutek tunes run for $650-$700 I think for a base price + tune.
The local bay area places I personally know of (there certainly could be more) are EQ Tuning, and Gruppe-S.

650 at eq tuning. And i love it. Ive been in other cars and no other car is as smooth as a equlibrium tune(eq tuning).

i have utec just to throw more crap into this thread

ecutek is the better reflash

but if you upgrade one thing at a time its alot of money to keep getting it reflashed

Unless you're doing the tuning yourself, re-tuning a UTEC costs the same as re-tuning a reflashed ECU. Only the initial reflash costs $650 which includes the Ecutek license that's stored on your ECU. For any tuning after the initial reflash, you just pay for the tuner's hourly fee as you would with a UTEC tune.

haha yea... i just wanted to see for myself what everybody was talkin about. if i dont like it, its not like i cant get another ecu... i also got a pretty good deal on it so i couldnt really pass it up.
