GST is my number 1 choice. They've done my clutch in the past and will do it in the future. Also a motor. And a wheel bearing. And a timing belt.

RBMS would be my second choice.

As for cost. I'd call the shop and ask. It'll depend on if you buy the parts through them or outside. If they're oem or some other company.

My advice would be to go with the Exedy OEM replacement clutch.

I'd figure to guess you're looking at $750 including parts? But like I said... just call the shop for a quote.

If you're keeping the car stock just put stock stuff back in it.

Now... saying that... if you do feel like spending extra money. I ran the Organic Stage 1 Exedy with an ACT Streetlite flywheel. Little bit noisy when engine braking but besides that absolutely zero issues and it lasted well over 100k.

Mert - RBMS in Hayward, not too far from GST, is another solid bet.

RBMS or GST are both excellent options.

Since you are down in San Jose I would also consider AA Motorworks.

I'll add to the chorus of GST Motorsports

If you need to stay in the South Bay, Mann Engineering in Santa Clara are really good folks too

thanks for the input all, with regards to the flywheel, should I just have the stock one resurfaced? I know that early on subaru had issues with clutch chatter and stuff??

I am leaning toward an exedy oem replacement, I think they are about $189 on ebay and they even have a package that comes with a lightweight flywheel for $319?

any thoughts? the car will mostly stock

I would check with the shop that you are going to go with as to how they want to handle it. It could be easier (and cheaper) to have the shop get the parts for you. If there is a problem with the parts that you supply then you would be on the hook for the replacement items. If the shops gets parts that for some reason are not correct, they would be more likely to get the part situation sorted out for you.
