You guys saying F the bus/semi drivers would feel differently if you actually had to drive a semi. What he is saying is exactly right and only after driving 3,000 miles in a Budget rental truck with a full load + a trailer with a loaded car, I realized what they have to put up with.
They cannot slow down or speed up like we can in passenger cars. When I was on the road with that truck, I had to pay attention in the merge lane. If I saw a car merging I change to the right lane if it's open. Semi's do this all the time. The semi's cannot speed up or slow down, we have to adjust our speed when driving in a passenger car. I always let semi's in my lane or to merge when I see them signaling because I know how hard it is for them with all the idiot and inconsiderate drivers there are. Everyone is so clueless.
About 17, I driven there a few times and I can imagine how annoying it would be to be stuck behind a bus/semi, but they need to get to the bay area too.

There is a tunnel - I believe it's being used for wine storage now
it makes me mad every time I think about it

I am also guessing you walk everywhere and have no need for a car. As far as I can recall, semis actually haul all that petrol to refill the gas stations, which the rest of us common folk use to have uninterrupted use of our cars.
And apparently you also have never driven anything larger than a standard-size passenger vehicle. While plenty of semi and bus drivers choose to be ****** on the road, actually driving one is not an easy task. As much as those drivers would love to maneuver, brake and accelerate to keep up with the flow of traffic, there is not much they can do against the laws of physics.

On 17, I've found myself more frustrated with Camry's, Corolla's, and similar drivers who can't drive predictively and think 45 mph is worth of the fast lane; and BMW and "macho pickup" drivers who won't let you pass and brake deep in the corner while turning.
The trucks have been mostly predictably slow. Slow I understand. Predictability I appreciate.

there are so many negative things to say about 17, as i drive it about 3-5 times a week, ive developed road rage just from driving on that road...
my biggest problem with 17 is the large trucks and commercial vans that drive in the fast lane, never observing the "SLOWER TRAFFIC KEEP RIGHT" and not giving enough room to pass...

Damn! That is such a simple solution! You are a pure genius!
