I truly wish the CHP would help make our roads BETTER rather than focusing on making them "safer". This has to be one of the best things I've read about the highway patrol evAR!!!

I wish cops would do this...I drive 3-500 miles a week easy and maybe one person a week actually gets over and let's me pass...I follow this law religiously because it pisses me off like none other...even if I were doing 80+ on the freeway, I'd get over for someone going faster...I've even gone from the 2nd fast lane over one to let someone pass

It's not so much about moving over for a faster car as it is about not sitting in the passing lane unless you're actively passing a car. This all goes out the window in moderate to heavy traffic obviously, but the general rule is "keep right except to pass".
It works like clockwork in most European countries that I've driven in primarily due to the drivers' education/training that one has to go through in those countries. It really makes me wish we could implement more difficult driving tests here in the U.S.

Well, Germany is also very aggressive in ticketing violators of this law. I guess that wouldn't be too hard when you don't have to worry about speeders!
