Cheaper to buy while in Japan?

I've got a friend in Japan at the moment, and I was wondering, is there anything cheaper to buy in Japan and bring back than it is to buy it here or shipped to the states?

Despite the conversion rate, some parts are definitely still cheaper over in JDM land.

Nothing.
Everything in Japan is hella expensive.
But it terms of things in general.
There are a lot of things that you can buy in Japan that you can buy anywhere else.

I heard JDM wheels (e.g. Works, Advan, & etc.) are cheaper there.

Yes, they can be. But the exchange rate right now is so bad that it doesn't matter. That and getting them home is going to cost a ton in shipping.

Only place to get things cheaper (not car parts, etc... Stuff is already cheap here in the USA) is China and places like Taiwan and such... Otherwise, we have stuff that's already really cheap here.

Lets put it this way, my cousins live in Bosnia, a second world country and I buy them things here because they are much cheaper than over there in Bosnia. Things are really cheap to buy here in the USA, there isn't really anything you can buy in Japan and bring back that will be cheaper than here in the USA. The only reason it's worth bringing something back from Japan is items you can ONLY find in Japan, otherwise you're not saving any money at all.
