The difference in price isn't thousands, or even hundreds

All I gotta say.. for 200 bucks this lil GoPro Camera is well worth it.

I'll post up some videos tonight but overall its a good little camera. Like I stated before, I am not spending 600+ for a ChaseCam or anything similar to one. At this moment in time I'd rather save the ends for other items while achieving the similar goal; recording track laps with decent video and sound. This little camera provides that and its not costing me too much. Win Win

Though I will say there are other systems, in the 600 plus range, that are pretty damn nice. Some of those mentioned here in this thread but for a nice simple approach, I think this Camera does the job.

Cons for me thus far:

1. Well its pretty much trial and error with this camera as you can not monitor as you are recording. You have a view finder which is fine and dandy but you cant monitor. Therefore you need to know what you are doing prior to going out and recording, which goes for all cameras.

2. It runs on two AAA batteries. So I am sure it will get old replacing or recharging batteries. This is a minor Con however it does suck.

3. It can only record an hour on a 2gb SD card. I wish it could hold more but this camera will not read anything larger than a 2gb Card.

funny guy! haha

this is TV quality, pictures are different...the only thing we'd be waiting for is an HD version...which will cost a lot more and wouldnt be smart to buy the first model out either.

why not just get an SD camcorder and get for it to be able to attach it to inside of car like i see in most race cars on the track? they are only about 300 and you can use for many other things. i know for kyle on a motorcylce that is not an option, but most cars will be fine with that.

i shove my camera in my passenger headrest, but inside views are so boring IMO. I've only used my helmet cam for bike stuff, and it sucks without a mic.

Another Pro for this camera is all the mounting brackets you get with the kit. Like sigma mentioned, there is a suction cup mount that can mount both inside and out. The kit comes with several helmet mounts, flat surface mounts, and more extension.

I think the size is another plus as well. Its 2 1/4 inches wide and 1 1/2 tall.

PS.

I know there are other SD Cameras that you could mount and use.
How is the quality as far as reduction of noise and video vibration?

Interesting. Seems like a great option.

With the Vio and the Cam-FX you get better quality but you have to have a camera.

This GoPro is all in one, correct?

I'm looking for something I can use snowboarding and driving. Mostly snowboarding. And I don't want to have to carry around a bunch of crap as I don't ride with a pack.

The CamFX is a kit. There is a small recording box that would fit into any pocket, it's has a LCD screen which helps you aim the camera, comes with a suction mount (so, if you ride with a helmet, that would work)... it's pretty complete, and it comes with a bullet camera. There is a package for it.
