A Cheap Alt. To A ChaseCam
I figured I'd share this since I am sure some people maybe interested in this product.
My buddy returned from Sema with a "GoPro Camera" and I instantly was amazed at the quality of the pictures, sound, and mounting capabilities. Originally I was looking at purchasing a ChaseCam but knew I could not justify the overall costs; nor did I want to shell out the $$ on the mounting brackets and the different options.
Anyhow, I ended up picking up a GoPro camera and I gotta say this little camera is a great bang for the buck. Obviously, the ChaseCam is better but I personally this its a good option.
I was wondering does anyone here have one?
Check out their website with videos and general information.

i think its great for internet video and a weatherproof camera...but i'd rather be tethered to my VIOsport connected to my camcorder in my camelback...better quality.

Yeah the VIO has better quality for sure! But really, the price for what you get, IMHO, aint too bad. And I agree, kick *** for Internet Videos or just plain out viewing your lines/so forth.

yeah, its really good if you dont wanna smash your camcorder when you crash! but ive crashed a few times on my bike and havent broken it yet.
Thats why i hate all these HD TV's...theyre spoiling us and making cool products like this less desirable.
On the VIOsport website its hard to tell its better quality...maybe because of how they uploaded...but it says 30fps 720x480. I have the older one and its still pretty good quality.
When i upgrade, i'll save the old crappy one for the mudflap dirt slinging shots

what a bunch of BS...i just called VIOsport and they dont offer their analog helmet camera anymore! i was just about to buy a better resolution one pretty soon...
You have to buy the $700 system that comes with a useless LCD screen for "on the fly editing" yeah because i want to edit and waste my daylight and fun time
and its a B to import it onto your computer to edit.
The analog ones were same quality as the $700 one, but for $150! and they just sold all their stock for 40% off!
F VIOSPORT!
Anyone know of a helmet cam that plugs into a camcorder? camfx plz!

Sport Compact Car has a review of it in their latest issue (December, I think), and they gave it a pretty good review. For the price, it appears to be a good deal, especially if you get a large memory device so you can pack a lot of hours of footage on it.

Im about to order this super hi res model.

thinking about getting the zoom/focus one...but the nice customer service guy, James, said the fixed focal length has a wider angle for tight trails and such.
