the rule on the intercooler is:
if it has one, you have to have one on there any kind on it

if it didnt come with one, you dont have to have one but can put one

what year was it? OBDII or OBDI

maybe they cahnged the rules since then. I dont know about 10 years ago, i can barely remember three
It's really hard to fool them, they WILL even look on the internet while you are there waiting for your car to be tested and reference any part #s etc.

I've witness a teacher telling one of the students at the ref station while inside inspecting the car to look for any turbo timers and aftermarket gauges and if you find any you make sure to mark it down as fail.

--

To the guy who passed with any ol cat/hf not matching for their vehicle at that state ref station.. Which station was it? Isn't the ref funded by the state, if they are shutting down mom and pop smog stations, I'm going to report that ref station and reference your post to have it shut down too! hahah

i would love to see the tail pipe readings from any large vehicle compared to the 'sports' cars that are damned and destroying our state.

lets see which is the worse polluter.

Well, I was joking more about the big ol' JDM Theory meets where the underground J-Town garage turned into a hotbox of uncatted smog and where management was kind enough to turn off all the ventilation fans

But if you guys want a J-Town lunch meet, I might just be inclined to do that... maybe...

Do you think the exhaust coming out of one tail pipe is different than the exhaust coming out of the other.
Umm... Yay, the volume. If that can curve the test??? IDK. Even my subie at idle, most of the exhaust comes out the left side.
