Its like the idiots that think "big brakes make you stop faster" NO! they do not, the only way you stop faster, is to have less weight, or a bigger contact patch. (not that I think anyone here is stupid enough to believe big brake kits make you stop faster, that is reserved for the SRT/camaro/mustang crowd)

Now then within those two choices you can get Cryo Treated or non Cryo Treated.

Benefits and cons of Cyro treated rotors?

Now benefits of high carbon and non. Seriously bugging me as their website isn't really clear on either. Assuming 125s are the better more durable set up. I just can't see myself spending 200+ a rotor from DBA just to replace them every two pad changes.
On the street, I saw no difference with the Cryos and have never had any issues with standard Centrics or Brembo blanks.

I'm running ht-10 pads so once theyre heated. They're pretty aggressive so I need something that can take the heat and abuse. I think the dba 4000s I have did well. But they're 10 years old with no slots left now lol.

I spoke to an engineer over at Centric and the guy didn't give me the kind of confidence that he knew what he was talking about that I'm comfortable using their stuff anymore. I still like the SP pads and the rotors are fine, but given a choice, I'll use something else.

T2s or T3s? I'm running T3s right now and they seem fine. They do make the pads dust a LOT though, but you had the 4Ks, so they would have too

I have to not care about dusting. The ht-10s are corrosive already lol.

In their defense i have had both intances happen to rotors. I have definately warped a non vented rotor as stated above while offroading (using my brakes a lot and then driving thru deep mudholes) but my vented rotors on my wrx have only suffered from deposit waves as stated by stoptech.

Brake talk:

I did a Brembo swap on my Forester (front and rear).

Running KSN blank rotors (essentially DBA 4000 rotors), Stoptech Street Performance pads, Gooodridge SS lines, and Stoptech fluid.

Very happy all the way around.

Bigger kits help with heat dissipation which leads to better braking on consistent use. Now there is a point of overkill for the weight of the vehicle.

I still want the stoptech trophy kit for my car. I cannot provide a reasonable answer to as for why...just because it will make me giggle like a school girl every time I look at them!!!

Some day...

There's basically two models

120 Series
Probably GS3000 material
&
125 Series
Probably GS or FC high material mixed with High Carbon
Difference is the High carbon or not.
High Carbon has a higher rate of returning to form/shape properties over the conventional grey iron
Now then within those two choices you can get Cryo Treated or non Cryo Treated.

Benefits and cons of Cyro treated rotors?
Cryo treated chemically modifies raising the material/composition to a higher breakdown temp. Cryo + High Carbon will most likely result in rotors that can take more heat and when they do take the heat, they can be cycled a lot more than a traditional grey iron rotor.
What brake pads are you going to run and what type of activities will you be doing?
I can't format this on my phone

Yeah I got some new high carbon cryos for $70 a piece ish. Lemme see if it holds up to the ht-10s.
