Cel Help!! Limp Mode??
my car has done this a few times now, heres what its doing, when i shift from a lower to higher gear at around 5 to 6k rpm it will shut everything down, cel comes one, wont shift past 3k, doesnt boost at all, and my access port shows no trouble codes?? but once it cools off it shifts fine but cel stays on, still no code, and once i cool off the second time cel is off and runns fine untill the next time? its done it like 4-5 times, any ideas?
i took it to gst and they said it has a vac/boost leak, could that be the cause? they also inquired that i should be running a fmic, car has roughly 320 to teh wheels, bigger turbo all required upgrades for it, exhaust, intake , big maf injectors ect.....
any ideas? could the boost leak be causeing it to do that? will a fmic fix the problem?
any help would be great thanks

Isn't this Medic STi old ride? Steven I think is his name. If it is I thought it ran it fine maybe take it back to the person who tuned it and I believe it was Ed.

well, first i would make sure you don't have any boost leaks, and if you do just have gst repair them or do it yourself if able. i don't know why they think you should be running a fmic, there are plenty of sti's out there that have well over 350whp and run tmic's. so i don't think getting a fmic is going to solve your problem. and if it only started happening two 2 weeks ago i don't think the tuner or old owner should be held responseable.
just my $0.02, good luck!

I test drove the car and couldn't replicate any issues no matter how hard I tried. The only problem I found with the car was that it had a slight boost leak. The current tune seemed solid to me.
I think the owner is friends with Greg here who mentioned that for the size turbo on the car that perhaps a FMIC might be a better route to go.
