ahhh, I see your point.

However, I'd be using it properly. this 15mph clunker is getting traded in (hopefully) for a civic!

yeah 6 days it toook for the money to run out, the economy is that bad that everyone thoguht this is such a great deal i have to go out and do it. my friend inthe finance office, told me that it worked out to like 15 cars per every dealership in the us, the money kinda ran out yesterday, they got a call saying that stop taking cars or you are gonna get ****ed cause they projected all the money would be gone by tonight at midnight.

now some dealership took in like 50 cars the first day.

the worse part about it is that it shows how bad or economy is, if you are not work or spending money at the moment you are not helping the economy. our whole econ, is based on frivulos spending, casue as you look right now most people are saving their money, they dont want to spend anything. they need encentive programs to get people to spend, or econ does work or is healthy if we all save our money and dont get into some kinda debt. now i am not saying that going out to buy a car now is stupid or anyting, if you want one get one, but it helps bring people out who were not going to spend their money, get them in the game. kinda like giftcards at christmas time, ooh wait, i mean holiday time.

This is one of the best stimulus plans ever. I mean, get old cars off the road, get people into new more fuel efficient cars (unless of course like Paul pointed out they trade in a POS suv for another POS suv).

I hope they increase the funding to 3 or 4 billion, and change it so that you MUST get more than a 8mpg increase. cause trading one SUV for another is just stupid, that doesn't help in reducing carbon footprint.

I would be nice to trade in this old van. We don't use it anymore, and it would be donated away if I can't trade it in under CARS. if CARS ever comes back.

if 23,000 cars have already been processed, and about 25,000 more need to be processed that's only about 48,000 cars!

That program was supposed to be for about 220,000-250,000 cars. So how the hell can they feel they might have run out of money?!

$97m is only 10% of the funds.

this is awesome. For example, you can get 3500 back for trading in a truck that gets only 2mpg better combined mileage.

94 grand caravan may soon turn in to a new subaru wagon woot

Anyone know if local dealers are still honoring this? I heard the $ will run out by friday. We're looking at trading in our 92 Pathfinder (15mpg) for a 3 door daily driver/beater (36 mpg). Thinking of the Hyundai Accent or Toyota Yaris. Anyone have any recommendations on cars or dealerships.

i am willingto bet they will throw more money at it. it has been a boon for Ford so far, and GM is also starting to benefit from this. Those 2 NOT going away is a good thing overall for the economy.

have you had any luck legally Gagan? with getting the car into your name?
