Unfortunately the passengers might have just been getting a ride.
They could have even been telling the driver to not behave like an idiot.
We don't know, so saying "they" got what "they" deserved is pretty unfair.

Just yesterday morning a honda(I think) killed itself on Highway 17 on one of the moody curves.
Luckily no one else hit it.
I didn't get to see the CHP incident report, but the car was totaled.
It looked like he lost it on the driver's side wall and went for a pinball run.
The debris field was impressive.
Have no idea about the driver, but the interior looked intact.

My mom said that my grandfather told them he saw it in the contra costa times and that two of them apparently lived. I can't find the article on the cc times website though.

Yesterday evening there was also an impressive rollover accident on North 17. Looked like the girl understeered into the center divide and the car climbed up it and rolled, then slid 200 yards down the road on it's lid. I wouldn't want that to happen in a caged rally car, I can't imagine doing it in a street car.

and this is why I hate passing on the inside.

As for the 17 crash...roll over slide. Friend of mine did that in high school. He slid through one of he openings and was sliding on his roof into on coming traffic. Luckily no one hit him. He was fine. His car was jacked. Looked like a wedge.

Sorry for these kids have to loose their life over a mistake we have all made before...driving too fast.
