Hey fellow i-club frends.....I have a 2002 WRX, 70,000 miles and its giving me problems a lot lately. First problem....small leak in coolant hose under the turbo (i think its the return line of the coolant), second problem.....smoke coming from turbo (smells like oil burning), also I suspect an exhaust leak from having an up pipe installed. The car makes a weird exhaust noise from under the hood until it warms up then the noise goes away and I can only suspect its from loose bolts on the up pipe from heating and contracting. Any other similar issues anyone has experienced? any help is welcome. Thanks.

 

The small hose under the turbo is actually the oil return line, the coolant runs through the sides of the turbo.
The sounds you hear when the car is warming up can be small cracks in the exhaust or just he gaskets are bad or were reused during the install of the up pipe
