Car Transportation Services

Hey all,

Some of you might be following my other thread about my recently busted transmission. If not, then the quick of it is that I shattered 2nd gear 900 miles from my house and now I need a way to get it back home with me in WA.

Instead of getting it replaced down in CA with a cheap replacement, which may blow again, I am just going to get it hauled back up here so that it can sit while I save up enough for the six speed swap or at least the V6 gearset.

So I was wondering if anyone in the Bay Area knows of a car transportation service that would be willing to ship a car from Union City, CA back up to Olympia WA. I'm thinking of terms of companies that ship cars for ebay users that purchase vehicles in online auctions. They have to get the car shipped cross country somehow, right?

I will be checking the internet and ebay for companies that might fit this bill, but there might be some companies locally that would do this that don't advertise online. So any help from the locals would be greatly appreciated by me. The car is located at Full Function Technology in Union City, and I need it shipped to the Olympia/Tacoma area. If it will be cheaper to have it shipped to a business, I know of one in Tacoma. If the car needs to be towed from Union City to a major city, I can pay for a flatbed there.

Please help me out. I am getting charged a daily storage fee so I would like to get this taken car of a quickly as possible.

thank you,
jason p.

I've towed my car for ~450 miles for ~$350 with UHal once. Good luck!

I'm hoping to do this without having to drive/fly back to the bay area. I can't really afford to miss more of work and I really despise the 12 hour drive that it takes. But if it comes down to it, is there anyplace that rents trucks one-way large enough to haul back a car without charging too much?

can't remember too many companies now - i knew them all when i had to ship my car - , but stay away from A-AAA Autotransport. they left my car in Oakland without keys, papers, or even telling anyone where it was going or had come from.
