Help with transportation.
Hi guys, i'm new to Iclub. I noticed nobody posts HIIC on Nasioc so I figured it'd be better to post here.
Me and a small group of friends are comming from Southern California and we'll be staying in Waikiki for two weeks. We want to explore the island and go to North Shore but none of us are 25y/o so we can't rent a car. I was wondering how much it would be to rent scooters over there. Would you recomend scooters over public transportation? I've been to Big Island, Maui, and Kauai but never to Oahu so I want to see all that it has to offer. If any of you guys have beater cars that you are willing torent to us, we'd gladly pay you guys. I'll be arriving there on Tuesday morning 5/30. Thanks in advance for any info you can share with me.

the bus for a group of ppls isn't bad tho for two weeks i would buy a bus pass it's like 40-60 bucks for a month don't remeber the price. tho it can take a while to get to were you are going but it's better then a moped. if you do find a car be ready to dish out on the gas b/c we are paying alot for gas here.
or maybe dale(boostin) will be nice and let you use his car since he just left it here to go to maui hahahahaha.

look up ferrari rentals in waikiki... they have normal (non ferrari) cars and they rent to people under 25, or at least they used to. a friend of mine rented a car from them when she was 22 or 23.

Considering Gas prices would you guys recommend renting scooter or a car. I have a feeling that we won't be going too far from waikiki everyday. I think we'd only need a car or scooter for about 4 or 5 days. Do you think 4 days would let us see most of what the island has to offer?

umm your gonna wanna head out to the north shore and the hanauma bay. so for those i would say catch the bus the rest a scooter would be fine. if you guys are still here after the 6th i can take you guys to some places like spitting caves manawili falls jusyt pm me a # to get a hold of yah when i get back from panama
Yeah, it seemed like last time I was in waikiki they'd rent almost anything to drunken college students, as long as you have the cash. I don't think you had to be 25 either, but I could be wrong.
I think the viper and Ferrari 355 were like 800 or so a day. We rented a jeep which was like 35-40 bucks a day. I don't remember how much scooters were though.
Steer clear of the timeshare soliciters. They'll sign you up for something promising a free luau or dinner, but it's all just a scam, they'll have your day wasted before you can say lickity split.

Thanks for the help guys, i'll be heading to the air port in a couple hours. Do any of you know how much it would cost to rent a 8'0 soft top for about a week? My friends really want to learn how to surf.
