well it's too bad it's already towed, you can test if the timing is really broken by cranking it and see if the motor wobble.

but usually a broken timing belt means smashed valves, at least on majority of the DSMs.

Good luck..

How can a dealership not cover a new car? That is total junk, I would talk to the general manager and demand service.

Sorry for the late update. Heres the scoop, the timing belt tensioner was defective making it a bad part. What it did was the gear would strip and it eventually snapped. So now the said it did some major damage and the block is wasted. They said the BOV doesnt matter and everything is warrentied but he doesnt know how there going to fix it yet. He was mentioning something about a rebuild and i told him theres no way i'll take a rebuild on a brand new car. He said he'll know tomorrow about what there going to do and inform me before they do anything. Anyone know if its possible to get them to stick in an EJ25? Anybody know if this has happened to anyone? Well i'll post tomorrow when i know tomorrow.

They owe you a new block, and usually SOA requires it, so that they can send the defective block back to Japan and inspect.

I seriously doubt that you'll get them to swap in an EJ25, even if you pay the difference for the motor, appendages, and all necessary mods. They're in the business to make your car right if it's on them, not being your mod installers.

Its amazing that we can shoot astronauts into space and send rovers to Mars, but timing belt/chain tensioners have been so frequently defective, for both cars and bikes...

Ok so i went down there again and got some more answers and got to see what happened to my block. They said im getting a new motor but there not sure if its going to be the whole long block assembly or just the head. He also explained that the main pulley for the timing belt was loose and it shreaded my timing belt to the point where it was a quarter the size of the original size. Also after further inspection the main crank pulley was also loose and was about to do some damage. All this cause a valve to bend so the whole head is shot. There still waiting on Subaru to call and tell them that the new block has been approved and an ETA on how long the shipping time will be. Thats about it.

Make them put in a long block.

your piston hit that valve to make it bend. i wouldn't want that piston and all that stuff in there still. At least keep the short black, and get new internals and heads...
