Car died

So about a month ago I bought a 2004 WRB WRX and put 3200 miles on it until today when it died. I was traveling in a parking lot in second gear and going along until i heard this high pitched sound that cut out and my car is dead. I pulled over a stopped fully, tried to start it and it was not wanting to turn over. I could tell it had spark but just didnt want to turn over. The tow truck driver said it sounds like i snapped a timing belt. Im just wondering if anybody has had this problem or know of someone who had this problem. Also an aftermarket blow off valve shouldnt void the warrenty correct. Any info would be great. Thanks -Todd-

Yo Todd,

Sorry to hear that man!!! If I were you I'd remove the BOV before you take it to the dealership.. Technically they could say it would void the warranty, knowing these stupid Subaru people.. Just put the stock one on and roll it in... Hope everything goes ok..

remove the bov and put the stock one back on just in case, and take it to the dealership.

BOV can't make the timing belt snap...

which dealership?

If they try to link the BOV to the timing belt snapping, threaten with a lawyer (you might need one if that happened)...

yes... remember, if they can prove that the aftermarket part CAUSED the problem, then fine...

otherwise, they are blowing smoke up your *** for silly comments like a BOV caused your problems...
