Car Audio Heads: Need some help!

Yo I just picked up a 98 Nissan PathFinder SE with the stupid Bose system installed. I took it to a shop this weekend but it looks like they didn't have the dash kit available... I was wondering, do any of you all have experience replacing the stock deck to this vehicle? I'm trying to throw in a Pioneer but I wanted to make sure I order the correct wiring harness, dash kit, and antenna adapter. This is what what my stock stereo looks like

I was wondering, do you all know what dash kit i should buy? I don't know why the audio shop would say its a special dash kit when it looks like it would be an ISO mount that would only require a pocket...

crutchfield.com

you probably have factory amps too.. may not be compatible with aftermarket headunit. go on that site.

Nah, you just have to bypass the factory Amp to install the deck, just a little bit more work. I'm just more concerned about the dash kit though.

I'll repeat once again, go to Crutchfield: Car Stereo, Speakers, Home Theater, LCD TV, Digital Cameras that will have all your info.

If you bypass the factory amp, your system will probably not have the correct wattage to operate. Unless those Bose systems are not externally powered.

in order for you to do an install in that 98 pathfinder is harness dash kit and maybe an antenna adapter... u can untilize the bose system by hooking up the remote wire.... PM me if u have questions or need it done...

if u do a single din deck u can use a pocket or a kit. the pocket will leave u with slight gaps around the deck itself. a kit will remedy this and u don't use factory brackets nor do u iso mount it... a double din deck u would iso mount usng factory radio brackets but will have slight gaps around the perimeter of the deck unless u get a double din trim kit specific for ur vehicle or if the aftermarket dbl din deck comes with a trim that you can modify to fit.

It's doable with the Bose. There's two harness kits, one for the Bose amp system and another for the standard. Just make sure whatever headunit you are getting has the low-level RCA outs.

I tend not to bypass factory amps unless Im replacing the entire system.
