can't wirelessly connec to my printer... :(
alright, so I have a Linksys WRT54GL and HP AIO 7280. For the life of me I can't connect to the printer wirelessly. However, I can read the SD cards by mapping to the it as a remote drive.
I used the CD that came with the printer and downloaded the latest from HP website. Either one of those when it comes time to select direct connect or network, it can never find the printer through the network.

what exactly do you mean by that? my printer has both wifi and lan connection (can only run one at a time). And both obtain IP from the linksys router.
i can print the configuration from the printer and see an IP. I know it has network connection because I was able to map to the card readers in the printer just unable to connect as a printer and print.

What you could do is hook it up to your router with an Ethernet cord, the printer will then recognize your network settings while using that install disk. It should have an option to "recognize network over ethernet" or something similar.
After you do that, it will set up your wireless network using the settings from the router.

RTFM...lol jk um i think there might be a setting in the linksys control panel that has something to do with wireless printers, i can't really remember i haven't used a router in years
if you want to get to the control panel go to,

I suggest that you make sure you have all updated drivers for that printer on your XP based computers/thinkpad. I would also make sure that you enable Printer/File Sharing in each.
Uninstall the software for that printer. When you pop it back in, go through the normal steps until it asks you how you would like to network it (USB/Ethernet/Wireless) and what you can do is use a USB Flash drive to gain the networking information of the printer, it will then have you plug the Flash drive into the computer and the router will configure the settings to allow traffic to that printer.
You would have to install the disk on all the computers if you want to use any of them.
I was having trouble with my older HP wireless printer, similar to yours in that I could get it "hooked up" but it would never print.
Get the manual and search for USB-Wireless connectivity or something similar.

I have no idea what RTFM is...
I've logged into the router and didn't find anything like that... Driver is correct, because if I connect through USB it works just fine.

I've done EVERY single suggestion you listed at least three times. Nothing works...
